Nonprofit access

Nonprofit Affordability and Access Policy

Nonprofits, charities and community institutions often work with limited resources on important work. This policy is a fair, transparent route to reduced pricing, without compromising the security, quality or continued development of ODMOP. Enquiries: hello@afolaola.com.

Principles

  • Fairness: eligible organisations are assessed by consistent criteria.
  • Accessibility: limited finances should not by themselves stop a genuinely eligible nonprofit from asking.
  • Sustainability: assistance stays financially responsible so ODMOP can keep being maintained and improved.
  • Transparency: eligibility, conditions and renewal are communicated clearly.
  • Accountability: applicants give accurate information and use an approved discount only for the organisation named.
  • Non-discrimination: decisions rest on organisational eligibility and financial circumstances, not on political or religious affiliation, ethnicity or unrelated personal characteristics.

Who can apply

Organisations operating primarily for a recognised nonprofit, charitable, community or public-benefit purpose, in any country (eligibility is not limited to Canadian organisations): registered charities, NGOs, nonprofits, community-based organisations, foundations, social-impact and humanitarian organisations, educational or development-focused nonprofit institutions, and others with a demonstrable public-benefit mission and a non-distribution purpose.

Generally not eligible for the standard discount: for-profit businesses and commercial consulting firms; organisations established mainly to distribute profit; political parties and election campaigns; individuals buying for personal use; organisations that misrepresent their status; and organisations whose main activities are inconsistent with lawful, responsible use of ODMOP. A hybrid organisation may be assessed individually, and we may ask for clarification where its structure or purpose is unclear.

Standard nonprofit discount

Eligible organisations may receive 15% off the recurring Starter, Growth or Professional subscription price, before applicable taxes. It is not automatically combined with other promotions or negotiated discounts, and only one standard affordability discount applies to a subscription at a time.

PlanStandard monthly priceMonthly price after 15% discount
Starter$39$33.15
Growth$99$84.15
Professional$249$211.65

Annual subscription discounts are calculated from the annual plan price.

Exceptional assistance

For organisations with exceptional financial constraints and a strong public-benefit purpose, we may consider an enhanced discount of up to 25%. Examples include small community-based organisations, early-stage nonprofits with limited budgets, grassroots organisations with little access to institutional funding, and organisations serving communities with significant resource constraints. Enhanced assistance is discretionary and not guaranteed. We may ask about your operating budget, funding sources, how many people will use ODMOP, your intended use, and why the standard price is a significant barrier. We may approve, decline or offer an alternative.

Institutional sponsorship

Where an organisation cannot reasonably afford a subscription but has a credible public-benefit use, we may consider sponsorship by a third-party institution, a foundation or development partner, an approved corporate social-impact initiative, or a time-limited AFOLAOLA allocation. Sponsorship depends on available resources and a separate written agreement that names the organisation, the sponsor, the funded subscription or service, the duration, any usage limits, and renewal or termination conditions. It is never a permanent entitlement.

Eligibility information

Depending on your organisation and country we may ask for: its registered name; a website or public profile; country of registration or operation; registration or charity details; a short description of its mission; evidence of nonprofit or charitable status where available; and an authorised contact. Organisations that are not formally registered can offer other evidence of their purpose and activities. We ask only for what is reasonably needed, and applicants should not send beneficiary case files, sensitive personal records or unrelated confidential material.

How it works

  1. Apply by writing to hello@afolaola.com.
  2. Provide information needed to assess eligibility and circumstances.
  3. Assessment against this policy.
  4. Decision: approval, decline, or a request for more information.
  5. Subscription agreement: the plan, discount, billing interval and conditions are documented.
  6. Live activation after the necessary organisational approval and payment or approved billing verification.

Approval of an affordability application does not by itself create a Live account or start a subscription, and no discount bypasses payment verification or Live provisioning. The Sandbox stays free for evaluation and separate from any subsidised Live subscription.

Duration and renewal

A standard discount is approved for an initial 12 months, confirmed in your subscription agreement. Before renewal we may ask for updated information. Renewal is not automatic, and we will tell you about any proposed change before the new period begins. If an organisation no longer qualifies we may remove the discount at the next renewal, offer a transition period, or discuss another arrangement; a change in eligibility does not automatically cancel an otherwise valid paid subscription.

Changes in your circumstances

Tell us about material changes such as conversion to a for-profit business, a merger or restructuring, a significant change of purpose or funding, or transfer of the subscription to another legal entity. We may review eligibility when circumstances change.

Using an approved discount

It applies only to the named organisation and the approved subscription; it cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for cash, shared with an unrelated organisation, applied retrospectively (unless expressly approved), or used to obtain extra workspaces. Legally distinct entities may each need their own assessment.

Fair and responsible use

We may decline, suspend or withdraw assistance where information given was materially false, nonprofit status was misrepresented, the discount was transferred or misused, ODMOP is used outside the agreed purpose, the subscription agreement is not followed, or continued assistance would create an unreasonable financial or operational burden. Where appropriate we will explain the reason and let you respond.

No guarantee

Applying does not guarantee a discount or sponsorship. We may limit how many enhanced discounts or sponsored subscriptions are available in a period, and standard prices apply unless an affordability arrangement is formally approved.

Privacy

Information you submit is used only for eligibility assessment, application administration, subscription approval, billing and account administration, and legal obligations, in line with our privacy information.

Review and appeal

If you think your application was assessed incorrectly, ask for a review: identify the application, explain your concern and add any relevant information. A review does not guarantee approval.
